ACAUT Nagaland responds to NPF – The Morung Express

Dimapur, August 28 (MExN): ACAUT Nagaland today termed the “accusation” of Rio-led NPF that the former is showing favoritism to Shürhozelie’s party as “utter nonsense”.

In response to the NPF’s statement on ACAUT’s allegation against Chief Minister TR Zeliang published on August 27, ACAUT Nagaland reminded that when Dr. Shürhozelie was the then Chief Minister, it had challenged him on his letter encouraging backdoor appointment.

“Further, corruption issues raised by the ACAUT Nagaland ranging from backdoor, MNREGA, PDS Scams, fuel adulteration, poor state of roads & bridges, to misappropriation of thousands of Crores of developmental funds, etc., spanning the last 10-15 years or so implicates everyone, and therefore, the allegation that the Chief Minister TR Zeliang is being specifically targeted does not fool anyone,” asserted a press release from Media Cell, ACAUT Nagaland.

The endorsement of the crowd during the August 25 ‘All Nagaland Public Rally’ against the government, it said, is a referendum against misgovernance of the last few decades, presently beset by infighting and corruption. “Against the background of the anti-corruption rally, the Governor should take note of the people’s frustration and angst if he’s for the people,” ACAUT added.

Meanwhile, ACAUT Nagaland advised the NPF Press & Information Cell (TR/Rio) to have a talk with the OSD, Finance Department, and find out whether he mentioned TR Zeliang’s name or not. “As far as the ACAUT is concerned, it only expressed what it had been told by the OSD, FD.”
