As a part of its strategies to fight fuel theft, Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) has implemented strict measures and procedures to improve the control and safety of its facilities. Under these plans, the company has decided to remove all personnel who violate its safety procedures or the integrity of the facilities, and those who aid or abet criminal actions.

As a result, Pemex has announced the rescission of the contracts of several employees of the storage and distribution terminal of Salamanca as they participated in some illegal activities, as established in article 47 of the Federal Labor Law. Other employees are also being investigated.

The company reaffirms its commitment to zero tolerance towards fuel theft or any other crime. Without exception, any employee linked to criminal actions will immediately be removed from their positions and will face criminal charges.
